Embedded Software Engineer - Medical

Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer - Medical Devices (ICD)

Location: Bristol, UK
Contract Type: Contract - 8 Months

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain embedded software for Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) devices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and design specifications tailored to ICD functionality.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and optimization of software performance to ensure reliable device operation.
• Ensure compliance with medical device software development standards (e.g., IEC 62304) and project timelines.
• Conduct rigorous validation and verification processes to ensure software safety and efficacy in a clinical setting.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems development, with a focus on safety-critical applications.
• Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and low-level programming.
• Strong understanding of medical device regulations and standards, particularly in the context of implantable devices.
• Knowledge of hardware-software integration, including working with microcontrollers and custom hardware.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in the development of implantable medical devices or other Class III medical devices.
• Familiarity with signal processing techniques, especially in the context of cardiac monitoring.
