I'm currently recruiting for a Reinsurance Accountant on behalf of my client, an organization within the Insurance sector who has a startup atmosphere with huge expansion over the next 3-5 years.

The team are seeking a talented and driven individual who will play a vital role in ensuring accurate accounting within the growth-focused reinsurance function. You'll be responsible for administering all aspects of reinsurance agreements in accordance with treaty parameters, as well as ensuring proper accounting treatment for all reinsurance transactions.

What You'll Do:

• Generate and update spreadsheet records for monitoring treaty-related actions, ensuring precise reporting.
• Analyze new reinsurance agreements, recommending and establishing procedures for accurate transaction capturing and reporting.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and complete calculations, recording, reporting, and billing according to treaty terms.
• Prepare and record journal entries to capture reinsurance activity.
• Reconcile reinsurance-related activity, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Oversee financial reporting while managing payables and receivables.
• Collaborate with auditors and respond to internal and external audit inquiries.
• Collaborate with Finance Team, third-party reinsurers, and senior management.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant work experience (insurance industry experience is a plus)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with SQL is a plus.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
