Controls Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement control algorithms for Battery Management Systems in electric vehicles, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate BMS controls into the overall vehicle control systems, including communication with other subsystems.
• Design and optimize software for real-time control of battery charging, discharging, and thermal management processes.
• Conduct system-level testing, validation, and calibration of control algorithms to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve control-related issues in both development and production environments.
• Document control strategies, software architectures, and test results, maintaining thorough and accurate records throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Controls Engineer with a strong emphasis on software development for Battery Management Systems.
• Proficiency in control system design and software development using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, C, C++, or Python.
• Experience in electric vehicle (EV) systems, particularly in commercial vehicle conversions, is highly advantageous.
• Deep understanding of battery technologies, control theory, and energy storage systems.
• Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations related to BMS and EVs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to a diverse audience.
