Responsibilities:

  • To have knowledge of and ensure compliance in the requirements of Health and Safety, Quality and Environment Management Systems and Policies.
  • To Have sufficient technical knowledge and understanding of electrical Regulations and in particular "The
  • Electricity Act 1989 (as amended by the Utilities Act 2000), The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations and The Electricity at Work Regulations"
  • To be familiar with and ensure that the requirements for LRQA National Electricity Registration Scheme
  • (NERS) are being applied at all times and that the resource deployed is suitably qualified and competent for the task in hand.
  • To be aware and ensure that the required Contract Specification, Network Operator Safety Rules,
  • Procedures, and Adopting Utility Specifications are being applied at all times.
  • To understand and apply the design requirements throughout the build program.
  • To be responsible to the Contract Manager.
  • To complete the required installation, test and commissioning documentation in accordance with applicable standards for the scope of work.
  • To always work Safely and ensure Safety of all those working around them.
  • To ensure that the risks and impacts associated with their contracted works activities are evaluated and that suitable and sufficient control measures are developed and documented in construction Phase Plans and/or Method Statements in advance of the operations commencing.
  • To ensure that supervisors and operational teams within their control have sufficient knowledge, instruction and training for the associated scope of work and have been issued with and fully briefed in the
  • Safe System of work requirements and specifications.
  • Comply fully with the requirements of CDM.
  • To ensure, as far as reasonably practicable, that activities are carried out as planned with procedures in place to deal with the changing conditions of the work/ operation and to deal with any emergency situations.
  • Review work method and precautions with the site management and the SHEQ Manager wherever necessary before work starts.
  • To oversee the installation works and be responsible for the cost-effective delivery of the works.
  • To be aware and ensure that Legislation and Industry requirements are being applied at all times.
  • Ensuring that all incidents/accidents or near misses caused in the vicinity of one of our sites are reported promptly to the SHEQ Manager.
  • To be aware of the Environmental impacts of the contracted works and ensure adequate controls are in place.
  • To minimise waste.
  • When required to carry out audits and inspection of the workplace as required and to KPI requirements.
  • To ensure scheme programs are adequately resourced and delivered in accordance with the contract program requirements, efficiently and with minimal abortive costs associated to time material and resource.
  • To ensure the site is administered effectively and efficiently to give a quality product.
  • To represent in a professional manner at all times.
  • Set a personal example by wearing the appropriate PPE whilst on site and be seen to take positive corrective action when deficiencies are identified.
  • Contact the SHEQ Manager in the event of any member of the enforcing authorities visiting site or office.
  • Reprimand any member of site supervisory staff for failing to discharge their SHEQ responsibilities satisfactory.
  • Be commercially responsible for all aspects of the works under their control.
  • Deliver an "on target" KPI performance for the business and client.
  • Lead by example driving a field support ethos where our management teams are field based supporting our people to meet our client's needs.
  • Develop/build relationships with client site managers and other parties during the contract period.
  • Attend external and internal meetings as required.
  • Preparation and submission of all required performance data for the use in operational reports as may be required on a regular or ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure compliance at site level with the Safety Management System, Contract Specification, and Codes of Practice.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of technical, contractual, commercial, and financial requirements of the Contract.
  • Ensure full compliance with NRSWA Regulations.
  • Maintain an up to date understanding of technical, contractual, commercial, and financial requirements of the Contract.
  • Operate in a manner that ensures you assist the team in hitting its targets within the parameters of the agreed service level agreement and KPIs, with focus on the Customer, resource/workload requirements and the resolution of escalated complaints in a timely manner.
  • Working with your fellow Project Managers ensure the overall regions performance is maintained and always supported


Essential skills:

  • Recognised Electrical Engineering Qualification (MIET/NVQ L4 or Above or similar)
  • Awareness of The Electricity Act 1989 (as amended by the Utilities Act 2000), The

Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations and The Electricity at Work
Regulations".

  • ECITB Passport
  • Knowledge of NO/IDNO Safety Rules.
  • Operationally and commercially aware with proven experience in a similar role within the Multi-Utility Site contracting market.
  • Awareness of Safety Legislation, CDM Requirements and Safe Working Practices
  • within the sector.
  • Extensive Knowledge of LRQA - NERS requirements
  • SMSTS


Desirable skills:

  • NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate
  • Previous Electrical AP
  • EUSR Electrical Appreciation for Managers (If not core background)
