Contract BMS Design Engineer - Remote (Data Centre Projects)

We're supporting a specialist BMS integrator in the appointment of an experienced Contract BMS Design Engineer to support a portfolio of hyperscale data centre projects.
This is an immediate requirement with an initial 3-month contract, forming part of a wider 12-month programme. The role offers flexible working, with remote working available and the option of ad-hoc (2-3 days per week) or full-time support.

Project Overview

You'll be responsible for producing complete BMS design packages for multiple hyperscale data centre developments, including one project in Frankfurt and two in London. The work is focused around the detailed design phase (equivalent to RIBA Stages 3 & 4) and will involve developing site-specific control documentation for each project.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce BMS panel designs.
• Develop control philosophies and sequences of operation.
• Create points schedules and I/O schedules.
• Design BMS network architecture.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation.
• Develop site-specific sequences of operation (SOL) for control panels.
• Liaise with project teams to ensure designs meet client specifications and programme requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a BMS Design Engineer.
• Previous experience delivering data centre or other mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of BMS design principles and control strategies.
• Experience producing panel layouts, points schedules, network architecture and technical documentation.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to tight programme deadlines.
• Preparation of defined BMS/ENMS design deliverables for RIBA Stage 3 & 4 typically including Network Architectures, Points Schedules, Sequence of Operations, etc
• Collation of all design information & resolution of queries to allow timely completion of design, including necessary submittals & approval from customers representative
• Identification of scope changes, including provision of necessary information to support claims for time/cost impact
