Switchgear Design Engineer

Contract Outline:

Role: Switchgear Design Engineer
Sector: 11kV DNO and Critical Infrastructure projects
Location: Leeds
Contract Length: 6-months +
IR35: TBC (likely outside)
Rate: £50ph + (depends on experience)
Start Date: May 12th

Role Outline:

• Identify the interface requirements and confirm suitability to specification.
• Prepare electrical design schematic diagrams for 11kV applications.
• Program protection configuration files for protection and control devices (Micom, Sepam etc).
• Provide technical support to the project management team, the manufacturing division and the Customer.
• Design of the project communication architecture and preparation of IEC61850 programme files.

Essential Skills:

• 11kV switchgear design experience.
• Experienced in programming protection devices and relays.
• Experience with ECAD software (e.g. EPLAN, AutoCAD).
• Relevant Electrical Engineering qualifications.
