Responsibilities:

• Generate panel layouts and bills of materials.
• LV distribution and cable calculations.
• Generating electrical control schematic diagrams.
• Generating instrument loop diagrams/cable block diagrams.
• Generating PLC wiring diagrams and I/O schedules.
• Machinery safety circuit design and risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849/60261.
• Preparation of supporting technical & installation documents.
• Liaise with site teams to meet project deadlines.
• Participate in project commissioning & safety validation.
• Work in a safe and sustainable way.

Skills:

• Preferably have knowledge / experience of machine safety and safety circuits. It would be an advantage to understand component SIL and machine PL ratings, however, training can be provided if required.
• Preferably have knowledge of PLC control wiring systems, instrumentation, and motor starter control types.
• Experience of AutoCAD, Amtech or equivalent software.
• Understanding of relevant standards to industrial automation & controls design.

Specific skillset:

• Preferably hold Electrical qualifications BTEC and/or NVQ3.
• 18th Edition.
• A work history of electrical design preferably within an industrial environment or food and beverage manufacturing.
