Electrician

Key Responsibilities

• Install metal conduit, cable tray, basket tray, and containment systems to a high standard of workmanship
• Carry out first and second fix electrical work as required
• Interpret and work accurately from electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
• Ensure all installation work complies with BS 7671 and current health & safety regulations
• Work collaboratively with site teams, supervisors, and other trades to meet project deadlines
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site safety compliance throughout
• Follow all site-specific access, security, and vetting procedures required on a secure/defence site

Essential Requirements

• Proven, hands-on experience installing metal conduit and containment systems
• Active basic DBS check, or willingness to obtain/renew one
• Valid ECS card (Gold Card preferred but not essential)
• Full right to work in the UK
• Willingness to undergo standard site security vetting and access procedures required for a defence site

Desirable

• Experience working on laboratory, data centre, or similarly high-spec facility installations
• 18th Edition qualification
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (City & Guilds, EAL, BTEC)
• Previous experience on MOD, government, or other secure sites

Contract Details

• Approx. 3-month duration, with strong potential for extension based on project needs
• Site is located at AWE, Aldermaston - candidates should factor in travel time from their base location
• On-site parking is not available; a shuttle bus runs from a nearby car park
• Day rate to be discussed based on experience and clearance/vetting status
