London 45K - 50K vehicle allowance Permanent
To coordinate and manage mechanical and/or electrical building services engineering projects from concept, survey, through to completion, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, industry standards, client requirements, and company procedures.
Design Duties
Develop outline mechanical and/or electrical designs for building services, including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, security, and other specialist systems.
Prepare feasibility studies, concept designs, and tender documentation with assistance from our design team.
Undertake site surveys and inspections to inform designs and verify installations.
Have knowledge of design software packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Amtech, Dialux/Relux).
Project Management
Plan, monitor, and control projects to meet agreed cost, time, and quality targets.
Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate design and delivery.
Attend project meetings, preparing reports and minutes as required.
Ensure health, safety, and environmental requirements are met in all project phases.
Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including reviewing technical submissions.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure all installations comply with the Building Regulations, BS7671 (for electrical), BS EN standards, and CIBSE Guides.
Apply sustainable design principles in line with Part L, BREEAM, and low-carbon technologies where applicable.
Maintain accurate project documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
Degree, HNC/HND or equal experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in building services project engineering.
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, BS standards, and health & safety legislation.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Membership of CIBSE, IET, or other relevant professional body.
Experience with sustainable and renewable energy technologies.
Understanding of BIM processes and standards (PAS 1192 / ISO 19650).
Site experience in installation, commissioning, and fault-finding.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
