Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 + Car Allowance + Project Bonus + Benefits

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing Building Management Systems (BMS) team delivering a range of retrofit, panel upgrade, and commissioning projects across commercial environments.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on Project Manager with a strong technical background who can quickly integrate into existing projects, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and lead project delivery from inception through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of BMS projects from design through to installation, commissioning and handover
• Develop and maintain project programmes, resource plans and delivery schedules
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within scope and within budget
• Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously across various client sites
  

• Oversee the design, implementation and commissioning of control systems, automation solutions and BMS installations
• Review technical specifications, drawings, control strategies and project documentation
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards and regulatory obligations

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates
• Manage client expectations and resolve project issues efficiently
  

• Manage project budgets, forecasts and financial performance
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Monitor project profitability and resource utilisation
  

• Coordinate Project Engineers, Commissioning Engineers and subcontractors
• Promote effective communication and collaboration across project teams
• Support engineer development and performance management

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience delivering engineering or technical projects as a Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Contracts Manager or similar
• Background in one or more of the following:
• Building Management Systems (BMS/BEMS)
• HVAC Controls
• Electrical Engineering
• Industrial Automation
• Controls & Instrumentation
• Electro-Mechanical Systems
• Experience managing installation, upgrade, retrofit or commissioning projects within live operational environments
• Commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets, programmes and resources
• Excellent client-facing communication and leadership skills
• Full UK driving licence

Desirable

• Experience with BMS platforms such as Trend, Honeywell, Schneider, Distech or Tridium Niagara
• Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus or similar integration protocols
• Experience delivering public sector, government or secure environment projects
• Existing security clearance (SC, DV or equivalent)
• PRINCE2, APM, PMP or similar project management qualification
